Where to go when you have to go

Public Restrooms

Fay Bainbridge Park

Located at the north-east corner of the Island on Sunrise Drive. Two restrooms serve the picnic area and campground. Accessible. Hours: Perpetual to campers, but gate to general public is locked at dusk and opened at dawn.

Fort Ward Park

Located at the southern-most tip of the Island. One set of accessible restrooms at the boat launch parking area, another further down along the waterfront trail. Hours: Dawn to dusk.

Battle Point Park

Located midway up the Island to the west on Arrow Point Drive. Restrooms are near the “Kids Up” playground just inside the east entrance. Hours: Dawn to dusk.

Eagledale Park

Noted for the first off-leash dog park area on the island. South on Rose Avenue off Eagle Harbor Drive. Accessible. Open dawn to dusk.

Rotary Park

Wyatt Way and Weaver Road. Ball fields and trail. Not wheelchair accessible. Open dawn to dusk.

Strawberry Hill Park

On High School Road between Sands Road and Fletcher Bay Road. Restroom is accessible and next to the Park District office. Dawn to dusk.

Public Restrooms – Downtown Winslow

Ferry Dock

Just within the main entrance to the ferry terminal and to the left are the men’s and women’s facilities. Plain and simple. Accessible. Hours: Almost round the clock.

Bainbridge Island Police Station

Corner of Hwy 305 and Winslow Way. Two bathrooms. Unisex. Accessible. Hours: 8am-4pm.

Waterfront Park Community Center

Located on Bjune, across from Waterfront Park. Accessible. Hours: 8:30am-4pm. Closed Sat/Sun.

Waterfront Park

Located next to the boat ramp parking area. Accessible. Open during daylight hours. Visiting boaters may request code for shower from the harbormaster, 206-780-3733.

City Hall

Located on Madison Avenue. Restroom facilities are at the back of the building. More convenient to use the side door and then step along the hall. Accessible. Hours: 24/7.

Bainbridge Public Library

Madison Ave. and HIgh School Rd. Located just within the front door. A family restroom in the Children’s section is on the lower level, accessible by an elevator or by the lower entrance. Accessible. Hours: Vary.

Private Businesses

Rite Aid

Located in the High School Road shopping center, this store offers improved restrooms located at the back on the left side of the store from the entrance. Respect the “Employees Only” sign and seek permission. Accessible. Unisex. Hours: 8am to 10pm.

Ace Hardware

Located on High School Road across S305, this restroom facility is the best interior design on the block. Papered in blue, it is situated in the home furnishing section at the back. The counter space is long and could even rescue a parent needing a diaper changing area. Accessible. Unisex. Hours: 8am to 5pm M-F, hours vary on weekends.


On High School Road across S305, McDonald’s has rescued many. Two facilities, male and female, are always available with late hours to accommodate late-nighters in a town that often closes too early. Accessible. Hours: Almost round the clock.

Bainbridge Gardens

Miller Road and Battle Point Drive. Accessible restroom serves the nursery and the New Rose Café. Hours (Spring/Summer): M-Sat, 9am to 5:30pm, Sunl, 10am to 5pm.

Island Music Center

In Rolling Bay on Valley Road just east of Sunrise Drive. Accessible restrooms serve the music center. Hours: M-F 8am-6:30pm, weekends 8am-3pm.

Treehouse Café

In Lynwood Center. Keep in mind that Treehouse has been voted best pizza on the Island. Accessible. Hours: M-F 11am-11pm, Sat 9am-11pm, Sun 9am-10pm.
